UK police chief supports decriminalization of brothels

Problems linked to prostitution could be solved by decriminalizing brothels, says a senior Greater Manchester Police officer. < http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-15558800
Deputy Chief Constable Simon Byrne said academic evidence supports this model, with benefits for sex workers including improved access health to services and increased personal security.
“An approach like this would help to bridge the gap between tackling neighbourhood nuisance and the exploitation of sex workers by organised criminals and gangs.”

Recently launched report by Harm Reduction International finds that over forty states apply some type of judicial corporal punishment for drug and alcohol offences.
